Mike Henson A great start by this fantastic band. The remastering is right on target. I cannot recommend their first three albums more strongly.

Smekermann This seems more like a reinterpretation of their first album, that's how different the mix is on this. I'm not complaining, though - it offers a fresh perspective on a classic album, and the sound is absolutely gorgeous - all the instruments actually feel on a soundstage now, and the vocals are mixed in lower, it all sounds very "live in studio". I'd highly recommend giving it a listen through headphones.

If you're just getting into the band now, this would be the perfect place to start. Favorite track: Sativa Landscapes.

Marcin Wielewski Love Weedpecker for a long time, and this new remaster kick ass. I can't wait for the new album to come this year. Favorite track: Don't Trust Your Elephant.

Adventureathlete The low-end is much clearer now, not just making the drums and bass more audible, but also adding some much needed emphasis on the guitars, the vocals have been given a different effect, the guitars have been given more audio panning and some leads added in, looking forward to IV. Favorite track: Sativa Landscapes.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
