These guys are, in my opinion, one of the greatest stoner/sludge band that have popped up in recent years. Sure, you have the "old gods" like Sleep, Electric Wizard, and Kyuss but Spaceslug brings something new to the table. They're fresh, and it seems like they've got no thought of stopping anytime soon. This is a very exhilarating song coming from Spaceslug, especially after their last full length which delved deep into doom's bleak abyss.
The main riff is very layered and syncopated, which feels like something new for them. It also feels very.. freeing, triumphant? Things get muddied in the middle, with a cavernous, spaced out, fuzzy, dreamy section, which gets progressively hazier. They bring it all back to the main riff before it all devolves into a doomy haze, then feedback. Beautiful. Smekermann
The Brooklyn band deliver a blissful psychedelic rock album steeped in sci-fi and spirituality, awash with organs, strings, and reverb. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 23, 2021
Utterly hypnotic, heavy, and ethereal beyond what I can aptly describe here. It'll take you careening down a kaleidoscopic wormhole of audial bliss. cynothoglys
